  • Job Description:
    As a member of our BAE Systems Manassas ASIC team, you will work with a top notch design team to develop industry leading radiation hardened ASICs for our Space Systems product line.  Our teams products have been deployed in commercial, civil and national security space missions; including GPS, weather monitoring, satellite TV and radio, exploring the universe; most notably the Mars rovers, Spirit and Opportunity. With this job, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the full ASIC design flow from requirements development and HDL creation through verification, design-for-test insertion, synthesis, timing analysis, and physical design as well as post fabrication ASIC first article bring-up.

    In this position, you will do the following:
    Develop and create requirements, specifications, and supporting documentation
    Develop specification driven RTL using a hardware description language
    Create a Verification plan and verify using various methodologies (Universal Verification Methodology (UVM), SystemVerilog, Functional verification, Test Like-You-Fly)
    Perform design synthesis, static timing analysis, and formal verification
    Insert ASIC test capability, generate test patterns, support ASIC testing
    Provide customer support and diagnose problems to root cause
    Work cohesively with teammates within our discipline, across the functions, and with partner companies

    Minimum Education and Experience:
    Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

    Required Skills and Education:
    Strong communication skills both verbal and written
    Must be highly self-motivated, driven ,and excited to solve challenging problems
    Good understanding of digital design process and familiarity of design tools
    Strong knowledge of HDL language (VHDL, Verilog)
    Significant work experience in at least two of the following:
    Digital design specification definition
    RTL design
    RTL verification
    Design for test insertion
    Static Timing Analysis
    Test pattern generation
    Physical Design
    ASIC hardware test bring-up

    Preferred Skills and Education:
    Working experience with all phases of ASIC development (Specification definition, RTL design & verification, Design for test insertion, Synthesis, Static Timing Analysis, Test Pattern generation, Physical Design, ASIC test bring-up,)
    Experience with modern verification methodologies, including UVM and/or OVM
    Experience with board design and lab environment hardware debug
    Experience with Mentor Graphics Modelsim or Questasim and Synopsys backend tools
    Programming and scripting skills: C, C++, TCL, PERL, Bash, Python, Ruby
    Experience with Linux environment
    Master's degree with 3 years of experience or Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience
