    Working/Functional Title

    GIS Coordinator

    Position Summary

    Performs facilities and GIS application and database design, including integration of applications and data with other highly complex technologies;

    Performs functional facilities and GIS systems design, including integration of business functions, user interface design and database design;

    Acts as a lead in the design, modification, implementation and integration of complex facilities and GIS applications, analytics and databases with little oversight and few questions regarding the resolution of problems;

    Acts as an independent resource to customers and unit staff on facilities and GIS application, data and analytic issues;

    Provides independent specialized (second level) customer support as an identified expert in facilities and GIS applications, analytics and databases;

    Acts as a resource, on a consistent basis, to other teams and staff in the resolution of IT problems.

    Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

    Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year degree program in Computer Science, Information systems, Engineering, Business or related Information Technology field, with coursework in an information technology specialization related to the area of employment; 3 - 5 years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) including a good working knowledge of geographic information management and spatial data standards, experience with GIS software, experience in the design, development, implementation GIS solutions, including analysis and database development, integration and web development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Desired Qualifications

    Experience with Munsys including knowledge of standard Munsys data models and working with Munsys LISP API; experience with Esri ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS tile cache creation and management, ArcGIS imagery management, ArcGIS Network Analyst, Vehicle Routing problems and Linear Networks, ArcGIS Spatial Analyst to develop surfaces and perform surface analysis, Experience extending ArcGIS Server services using Server Object Extensions (SOEs) and Server Object Interceptors (SOIs) , ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, and ArcGIS Collector; Experience with the ArcGIS ArcObjects SDK and developing in C#; experience with AutoCAD customization including use of CUI Editor and LISP programming, and Autodesk Civil 3D, Architectural Desktop and Revit software products; experience with Python and FME; experience with HTML and JavaScript development, including Dojo and ESRI web API's; knowledge of GPS data collection techniques and best practices; experience with enterprise relational database management systems including Oracle and SQL Server; experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) including FAMIS; experience with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) including BlueCielo Meridian; knowledge of ITIL framework; GIT version control, connecting Excel to external data sources to generate reports and pivot tables, ability to evaluate and interpret end user information requirements, and to develop appropriate systems and/or applications solutions; experience with project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools; ability to read and understand construction blueprints and other building plans and documents; ability to provide technical leadership to professional staff and/or students in area of expertise; knowledge of and experience working with underground utility distribution systems; a creative and innovative lifelong learner with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population; able to problem solve within a collaborative team environment; ability to understand different perspectives while utilizing expert knowledge of the technical operations of the job.
