    At the full performance level (GS-09), the employee will test and/or directs testing of Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) software against operational data, processing requirements and the ability to prepare effective formal feedback on results. s to manage the BLM New Mexico statewide SDE geodatabases and the data stored in those systems. Provides customer service to geospatial system end-users, helping them to manage their data and develop quality informational products from that data. Performs or guides feasibility studies for the use of geographic technologies to meet BLM mission requirements. Geographic technologies include: Geographic Information Systems (GIS), satellite remote sensing, ArcGIS Online, Web GIS, aerial photography, cartography, and Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Cooperates with federal agencies (NPS, USFS, NASA, BOR, etc.), State Agencies, County, City, and other local government entities, key private organizations, and professional organizations. Provide SDE database education, training, and documentation along with providing user support and troubleshooting assistance to state and field office personnel. Collaborates and provides assistance on a statewide basis in the deployment of a federated GIS architecture and the use of that system. Directs the work of and performs quality control on GIS applications development considering such factors as accessibility of information, frequency of access, storage media, data volatility, life cycle management, etc. Acts accordingly as a team member and provides input in the documentation of BLM business requirements. Using this input from BLM program leads and resource specialists, incumbent will utilize this data as a foundation on which technology will be developed and integrated in support of BLM mission requirements. Suggests technically feasible approaches, and makes recommendations to the user and management regarding the most efficient automation, mapping, and/or analysis approaches. Performs consultation and research to determine common and unique requirements, to recommend standardized resource base data terms and elements for uniform identification by all users and to select and develop a system design to service users individually or as a group
