  • $1,657.95 to $1,823.75 biweekly.  Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.  Government Center/Viera.  Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Performs experienced professional  Geographic Information Systems (GIS) work, including the design, development, and analysis of specifications for GIS data, applications, and workflows. 


    REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Urban/Regional Planning, Engineering, or a closely related field PLUS two (2) years of professional experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).  Must have experience with the following and must be able to provide examples upon request:  collecting, organizing, analyzing, and editing GIS data to ensure that the spatial and attribute data are accurate; quality control, comparison of data, and resolution of errors in relational databases to ensure accuracy; ArcGIS Desktop software, including ArcMap and add-ins including ArcScene; ArcGIS Model Builder; Python programming specific to GIS applications (ArcPy); Microsoft Excel, including data input, queries, and analysis; extracting analyzed data for creating reports and/or presentations; creating ArcGIS maps for multilayered graphical representations of geospatial content; and ESRI StoryMaps, using interactive data visualizations.  Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.  The following experience is preferred for a Utility Services organization:  developing and maintaining GIS datasets; compiling and maintaining metadata for data layers; and utilization of INFOR software and its relationships with ArcGIS.  SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Must possess or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment.  In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
