$1,657.95 to $1,823.75 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs experienced professional Geographic Information System (GIS) work, including the design, development, and analysis of specifications for GIS data, applications, and workflows. Work involves interacting with other GIS professionals and addressing staff throughout Brevard and neighboring counties in order to obtain reference data to ensure 911 dataset accuracy; collecting, organizing, analyzing, and editing GIS data to ensure that the data is accurate spatially and the attribute data that is attached to the spatial data is correct; and comparing data and resolving errors in relational databases in order to ensure the accuracy of the data, including address verification errors. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Urban/Regional Planning, Engineering, or a closely related field PLUS two (2) years of professional experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Must have experience with the following: Python programming specific to GIS applications (ArcPy); ArcGIS Model Builder; ArcGIS Desktop software, including ArcMap and add-ins including Attribute Assistant; GIS data quality control; interfacing with other GIS professionals; and analyzing spatial and non-spatial data for accuracy. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. The following experience is preferred: maintaining the Master Street Address Guide (MSAG); developing and maintaining GIS datasets required for public safety and E911; compiling and maintaining metadata for data layers for 911 and public safety; working with public safety addressing concepts related to the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and Next Generation 911 (NG911). SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
